Approach: Ashley currently sees clients interested in integrating walking and being outdoors into their therapy experience in several parks and trails in Virginia, some close to the DC/MD/VA Potomac border. She integrates eco-therapy principles with mindfulness strategies alongside traditional talk therapy (that happens to be outside!).
How it works: Typically, walk and talk therapy begins with a traditional, virtual or office based series of sessions (2+). A mutual decision is made on location for eco-therapy based on logistics and physical needs of the client and Ashley. Ashley and client meet at the agreed location and begin with mindful walking, followed by a period of seated therapy (usually with tea, hot or iced depending on the season), followed by more walking before ending the session. Locations are chosen for disability access, access to restrooms, biodiversity, and privacy.
Fees: Same as traditional therapy pricing.
